So many times, we don't celebrate our wins because we think it doesn't matter, it's not big enough, or no one cares. Then we look back and are sad we didn' do something to commemorate something that was so important us. No matter how big or small you think it is, if you feel good about it and worked hard to get there, celebrate yourself. You deserve it!
Recently, we celebrated our one year bloggerversary for All Things Melanin. When we looked back and reflected on how far we've come and what we've accomplished, we were really proud of ourselves. We got our closest friends together and we had a small, intimate party that was so full of love, support, and genuine compassion. It allowed us to know that we are on the right path and that what we were doing is bigger than us.
Whatever you're doing, it's bigger than you. Stopping to celebrate, reflect, and acknowledge your growth and accomplishments are important so that you don't get burned out. It's important to regroup, reflect and replenish. Pour into yourself, celebrate yourself, and know that you are doing an amazing job. Look at what you've accomplished and how far you've come. No matter how small or large, it matters.
So often, we belittle what we've accomplished becase we're comparing our journey to others. We look at someone else's chapter 20 and compare it to our chapter 2, then get discouraged. As we always say, your journey, is your journey, and no one else's. Focus on you, what you're doing, and allow what you want to manifest into more. Take time to see where you've come from and how yo've improved. It's ok to pat yourself on the back and say "good job." You've earned it.
Celebrating yourself will encourage and motivate you to keep going, to keep pushing, and pursing what makes you happy. Always take time to celebrate you, at each milestone, no matter how small or big the victory is. You've earned it.
