Turkey Day, Family & Thankful Thoughts:)

This Thanksgiving Holiday, we're both so thankful for YOU, your support, encouragement and love that you've shown us since day 1! Thank you for subscribing and coming along on this journey with us.  We started this platform as way to document our journey to following our dreams and encouraging women. We're just figuring it out as we go. You can think of us as your "hype women" encouraging you through life, no matter how good or bad life may be. You inspire and encourage us to be better and to 'go for it'. THANK YOU, we love you all so much!

I am thankful for my journey that God is bringing me through right now, thankful for the growth that I am experiencing and thankful for the grace to continue on. A lot of the times we don’t realize what we take for granted until we no longer have it. I have been thankful for the simple things, things that I cant see with my eyes but see with my heart, like; God’s protection, favor, and his hand on my life in every area.

At the beginning of this year, I decided to create a blessings jar. I grabbed a mason jar from my kitchen, created a label for the jar and called it “Blessings” so that each time I received a blessing, whether it be big or small, I write it down on a small piece of paper, fold it and put it in the jar. Anytime I have a rough day or find myself complaining about things or stuck in a negative mindset, I go into the blessings jar and read a blessing.

Truth is, we are blessed every day, even the tests are a blessing, the tears are a blessing, even the missed opportunities are a blessing in disguise! Its crazy how easily we can forget how blessed we are! I guarantee if you choose to find the blessing in each day, you will! And thats what I’m truly thankful for, every moment! The blessings jar puts me back in check! It helps me to always remember to stay grateful, and in everything give thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year more than ever, I'm just extremely thankful and grateful for the simplest things. The older I've grown, the more moments matter to me and just being in the moment and around those I love most. Holidays are bittersweet for me because I love quality family time, but I can't help but miss loved ones that aren't here anymore. However, it's made me more appreciative of those that are still here. It's made me want to create bigger moments, funnier times and document them along the way.

This year, I'm just overflowing with thankfulness because I see and understand just how good God has been to me. I'm thankful for everything that I have, material and unattainable objects. From my family, who continually love and support me in everything I do, to my friends that have become like family and that have just been some real ridahs from day 1, to my health, my job, my apartment, my car, and just everyday little things that I take for granted so much. I could go on and on.

I think we often forget to be thankful and appreciative on a daily basis, me included. On this Thanksgiving, spend time with those who matter most, and make it a habit to do it more often just becuase.

This Thanksgiving holiday, I've been so excited to just see and hang out with my family. From work to grad school, I've been so burnt out and exhausted from life that Thanksgiving is the boost I need. It's a gentle reminder to be appreciative, no matter what your circumstance may be. Thanksgiving is a reminder to stop and smell the roses. To enjoy and love on those around you.

HAPPY (ALMOST) THANKSGIVING FROM ALL THINGS MELANIN :)
