If it's one thing we've learned, it's that success is not one particular destination, it's ongoing work, dedication, and time to getting where you want to be. To be successful, you have to put in the work. There's not a one size fits all solution or a particular self help book that can get you there. If you want to be succesful, you have to get out and do the work. You have to invest time in your craft to be the best you can be. If you put part time work in your craft, you'll get a part time result.
It's hard, we get it. Many times, we don't have the resources or time to do what we want. After all, we have bills to pay, and to support ourselves, and sometimes others. Sometimes it appears that we have the weight of the world against us and the world on our shoulders. You may have tried something new before or to go after your passsion and it didn't work. But listen sis, don't be discouraged.
One thing that we've learned is that for every no you receive, you're that much closer to your yes! You've got to prepare yourself for what you've asked for. No matter what, put in work. And if you have to work a traditional 9-5 until you get where you want, do it! Secure that bag and support your self until you can get to a comfortable point.
If you're not where you want to be, that's ok. Many of us are not, keep going. Build up your side hustle until it gains momentum. Dedicate a certain amount of time everyday to work on your craft and stick to it. Seek out mentors or individuals that are in your desired field for advice, feedback or assistance. Read books that deal with your subject of interest, research, watch youtube videos, go to networking events, do what you have to do to get the knowledge that you need. Dive into the network that is needed to get the information and resources that you need. Sis, put in work!
Understand and know that the road to success is not straight. There will be many curves, potholes, and issues to deal with, but keep going. No matter what, push through. If someone won't give you a chance, listen, or support you, keep going. There is someone who will.
As a woman, it's important to follow the dreams you have and work to become everything you've dreamed you could be, for you. Often times, we lose ourselves in the daily grind of life of doing for others, putting others first. But it's important to do things that make you happy, fulfilled, and complete. Secure the life you've always wanted by laying the foundation to who you want to be.
