Fear and faith cannot coexist in the same space. You have to choose one or the other.
Fear is one of those things that can cripple you, and stop you from reaching your full potential. It can become so overwhelming and consume your thoughts, mind, and body. It’s one of those things that can consume you. Often times, we allow fear to keep us where we are and we settle for mediocrity.
Is fear frightening because of how it makes you feel? Are you fighting the fear of what people will say or think about you or your situation? Maybe fear has consumed you because you don’t know what’s unknown? Have you tried to overcome a fear in the past and failed? Or does every time you think of a particular fear, you get this gut wrenching feeling in the pit of your stomach that makes you sick to your stomach? Whatever you may feel or be fearful of, it’s ok. The problem occurs when you allow fear to dictate how you live your life.
Honestly, we both have some fears that we haven’t overcome, and you probably do too. It’s easier to say that we’re going to go for it, do it scared, and overcome our fears by doing x, y, and z than actually taking steps to overcome fear. Listen, we get it. It’s hard, it’s emotionally draining, and we don’t know what you’re going through or the background behind your fear.
You Can Overcome Anything!
However, here is what we know: YOU can do anything that you put your mind to. You have the power and the skills to overcome what is hindering you in your personal life. Pray about what’s scaring you and consider confiding in someone that you trust and will support you. Someone that will support you, hold you accountable and give you the gentle push you need.
The very breakthrough, answer, or affirmation that you’re in search of could be on the other side of your fear. It’s ok to do it scared. It’ s ok to do it and it not go as planned. But just go for it, in your time, at your pace, and when you feel you’re ready.
There’s nothing wrong with having fear. The issue comes when you camp out in your fear and become ok in being consumed with it. So together, let’s challenge ourselves to not allow fear to hinder us. Instead, let’s make strides to do something that will get us one step closer to overcoming our fear.
