What is your definition of a #GoGetter?
My definition of a GoGetter is someone who goes after what they want. They don't let fear hold them back and they go all in to get what they want. It's someone who doesn't let a mistake or failure stop them from getting to where they want to go. A GoGetter doesn't quit, they keep their dreams and goals at the forefront no matter how rough the road may get.
Describe Lemon Rose Label and what it means to you.
Lemon Rose Label is an online based women's clothing boutique. When people shop at LRL, I want them to know that they can look great in stylish and trendy clothing without breaking the bank. I don't want to be just another online shop. I want people to know that they're welcomed no matter who they are when they open up our shop link. I also want to be the place that people come to for style inspiration.
What is the inspiration behind starting Lemon Rose Label?
I had recently left my job and needed to take a break. I honestly had no idea what my next move was and I randomly got the idea to open up my own online boutique. I know it had to have been God speaking to me. I have always had a love for apparel and fashion and I had all of the tools I needed to get started, so I figured why not? Part of me was surprised I hadn't thought about doing it before, but while reflecting, I knew I wasn't in the headspace to do it before. I always had a dream of owning my own business, but I didn't know this was going to be it.
What would you say is the hardest part about getting started?
The hardest part is just doing it, just starting. I was so excited about opening up my shop at first. I completed my business plan, came up with ideas, got registered, I did everything I needed to. I actually did all of this months before launching the shop and kept it to myself. I was so afraid to actually get my shop up and running though. I kept making excuses, "what if this doesn't get me anywhere?" , "what if I don't make any sales?" , "was this a mistake?"
I had to get out of my own head, pray about it and literally just keep moving forward. I knew that I wasn't given this idea for no reason. Clearly God gave me everything I needed to do it, I just had to let my faith be larger than fear to
accomplish it.
What advice would you give to someone who is afraid to take the next step and go after their dreams?
My advice would be to just do it. Go out there and do what has been put on your heart to accomplish. Don't let the "what if's" and nay-sayers get to you. This is your dream, not anyone else's. Believe in yourself and know that everything you need to move forward is truly inside of you.
What does balance look like for you?
Balance to me is time management. I have to plan everything out ahead of time to make sure that everything gets accomplished.
What is your biggest dream for Lemon Rose Label?
My biggest dream is to one day have a small brick and mortar store. I would love for people to come and shop in person. Before that happens, I would love to establish partnerships, host pop up shops, and attend more vendor expos.
What has been one of the biggest rewards or things that has happened since you've started Lemon Rose Label?
The biggest thing thus far is that I'll be participating in my first vendor expo. I had this goal for myself and I didn't think it would happen so soon, so I'm extremely excited!
What is one setback you've experienced and how did you overcome it?
One setback has been not making my sale goals. It can be super frustrating when I don't hit a particular goal, but I can't beat myself up about it. I step back and see what I can do differently moving forward. I always then remind myself why I started in the first place.
What keeps you motivated to keep going?
I keep my end goals in mind, that is how I stay motivated. I know that this will be bigger than myself, so I have to keep working until I get there.
