What is your definition of a #GoGetter?
My definition of a #GoGetter is someone who stops at nothing to pursue their passions!
Describe Lockett-Up PR and what it means to you?
Lockett-Up PR is a full service public relations firm that services athletes, small businesses, and personal brands. To me, Lockett-Up PR means being able to provide people and businesses with the opportunity to take their brand or business to the next level at an affordable cost.
What is the inspiration behind starting your business?
During my time in college working in the Athletics Department, I noticed the need for athletes to brand themselves beyond their sport. I wanted to be able to show them that they have a lot more to offer than just being an athlete.
What would you say is the hardest part about getting started?
The hardest part about getting started is making the decision to bet on yourself. Starting your own business isn't easy, but you have to be dedicated to pursuing your passions.
What advice would you give to someone who is afraid to take the next step and go after their dreams?
The biggest advice I have is to pray about it. Make sure that this is something that God has truly laid on your heart and if He said go... then GO! If He brought you to it, He will bring you through it!
You also have FAB and the Daily Slay in addition to Lockett-Up PR, while working a full-time job, what does balance look like for you?
It was very overwhelming at first because I am so passionate about each of these brands, but I slowly learned to let go and delegate!
What is your biggest dream for your Lockett-UP PR?
My biggest dream for my business is to be able to do it full-time! I absolutely love working with people and building their brands. It would be such a blessing to be able to focus on just that.
What is one setback you've experienced and how did you overcome it?
A setback that I have experienced is a 3 month slow period in my business. It was very discouraging and I even questioned if I was doing the right thing, but I continued to pray and put my business out there and now we are back on track!
What keeps you motivated to keep going?
My faith and my parents keep me motivated to keep going. They keep me prayed up and encouraged. When I want to give up, they remind me of my purpose.
